During the examination, we can answer any questions you have about the donation process. And if you decide to donate plasma on a regular basis, you can take free physicals twice a year.

Our medical personnel will guide you to the donor chair. After you’re comfortable, he will connect to you the plasmapheresis machine. Here, the machine automatically separates your plasma from your blood cells, collects the plasma, then returns your red blood cells to you. Then, you’ll receive saline fluids to restore some of the water that was removed during the process.

While side effects associated with the plasmapheresis process are exceedingly rare, it’s important to follow our doctors’ instructions and ensure that you drink plenty of fluids, eat a healthy meal and refrain from strenuous activities for the remainder of the day.
